The Women’s Rights History Poster project for Design (Part A) focused on the study of typography, visual ephemera, and poster art. For my poster, the subject matter centered on the outline of a pregnant woman’s body, highlighting a woman’s autonomy, choice, and access to rights over her own body. This was paired with the poster’s central typographic message,
“we are more.” The phrase “we are more” reinforces the idea that women are more than birthing vessels, referencing the ongoing debate surrounding women’s rights. The background illustrations draw from different eras of the women’s rights movement, grounding the message in both historical context and contemporary relevance.
